Chantál C. Wright, LPC, GC-C

Greetings, my name is Chantál (The ending is pronounced like doll except that it’s spelled tal). I love to meet new people and growing up I always said I wanted to work in the helping profession.

I grew up in a close-knit family in a small town called Peekskill, New York. Every Sunday afternoon, my family and I came together to have Sunday dinner ” On the hill” at my grandparent’s house. Every other weekend, I had time with my paternal grandmother. I was surrounded by my parents, brother, many aunts, uncles and cousins and as time went on, surrounded by symbolic and death-related loss. This part of life is inevitable for us all.

I recognized more and more the importance of relationships and open, honest, and meaningful communication.

As a teenager, I found myself gravitating toward employment opportunities where I could be a mentor, role model and guide for other children and teenagers who felt misunderstood and isolated from their families.

I’ve worked in various roles and educational environments as a teenager, young adult, and adult. In 2007, I attended Winston-Salem State University to study psychology more closely and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2010, I pursued a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and later worked as a family-based counselor, camp counselor, and more. In 2014 I obtained a license in PA to practice professional counseling.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ecosystemic Structural family therapy (ESFT) and certified in Grief Counseling. I will do my best to provide you with skills, tools, and strategies to live a healthier and quality life. However, you have to want what’s best for you more than I do.

I expect you to walk away from our session feeling respected, heard, understood, and empowered. I believe you and I are miracles and everyone is special in their own way with the ability to rise above their obstacles. I also believe that the challenges in life can be so difficult to manage and overcome without the proper support, that recognizing your abilities can seem blurry.

Thank you for visiting my website. You are courageous. You are one step closer to living your best life, improving our world and the generations to come.
